The parliamentary elections are in spring 2027. How many candidates will be from Hanko?
In the last parliamentary elections, Hanko was represented by Pertti Ruuska (PS), Linda Westerlund (SDP), Fredrik Rantala (RKP), and Sture Fjäder (KOK).
Now that the elections are approximately a year away, all parties are beginning to nominate their parliamentary candidates. As a Hanko-based media, we want to follow how many candidates from Hanko will be included.
The candidates we are aware of for the upcoming parliamentary elections:
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Uusimaa District Conference of the SDP nominated Sami Laine, a resident of Hanko, as a candidate for Parliament. Sami is the chairman of the Hanko's SDP and the chairman of the city council.
Hanko Finns Party Association has published a statement on its website announcing Pertti Ruuska as a candidate for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The Finns Party district board has not yet definitively confirmed the matter.
Edvard Lindfors, Chairman of the City Board, has been nominated as the Swedish People’s Party’s candidatefor the parliamentary elections. Lindfors is also active in the Swedish People’s Party Youth as Chair of the Environmental Policy Committee and Vice Chair of the Uusimaa District of the Swedish People’s Party Youth.
No other nominated candidates have yet come to our attention.
