KINO OLYMPIA / Father, Mother, Sister, Brother

Father Mother Sister Brother explores the complex relationships between adult children and their parents. The stories are set in the present day and in three different locations: the northeastern United States, Dublin, and Paris. Father: Siblings Jeff (Adam Driver) and Emily (Mayim Bialik) visit their reclusive and possibly penniless father (Tom Waits). During their visit, they begin to suspect their father is feigning poverty and notice an expensive Rolex watch on his wrist. Mother: Siblings Timothea (Cate Blanchett) and Lilith (Vicky Krieps) visit their writer mother (Charlotte Rampling) for afternoon tea. The story focuses on the tensions simmering beneath the surface and what remains unsaid amidst traditional rituals. Sister Brother: Twins Skye (Indya Moore) and Billy (Luka Sabbat) are cleaning out their late parents’ apartment. They go through memories and belongings, discovering new sides of their parents and their family history. The film paints a human portrait of family, closeness, and distance with gentle humor mixed with shades of melancholy.
