Event series: A left-handed girl

KINO OLYMPIA / The Left-Handed Girl

March 7 @ 2:30 PM4:30 PM

A left-handed girl

A mother and her two daughters move to bustling Taipei. The resilient trio starts running a noodle stall at a lively night market. The stall may not be a huge success, but the trio sticks together. The fast pace and hustle and bustle of the big city captivate the youngest of the three.

Grandpa scolds the girl for using her left hand, which, according to old beliefs, is the “devil’s hand.” The girl takes Grandpa’s words literally. The family’s long-hidden secrets begin to come to light.

Sean Baker, the producer, editor, and co-screenwriter of *The Left-Handed Girl*, is best known for directing the Oscar-winning *Anora*. Shih-Ching Tsou, who has made a name for herself as a producer (*The Florida Project*, among others), makes her directorial debut with a film that captures the kaleidoscope of Taipei’s neon lights, the circus of life, and the spirit of adventure. Born in 2016, rising star Nina Ye is this year’s most charming breakthrough on the big screen.
