Oscar nominee Amanda Seyfried stars as the sect’s charismatic leader, who preached gender equality and social justice and was revered by her followers. The Testament of Ann Leereveals the passion and pain with which she built her utopia, and features over a dozen traditional Shaker songs, complemented by the ecstatic dances choreographed by Celia Rowlson-Hall (Vox Lux) and the songs and music composed for the film by Oscar winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist).
