A lonely Frankenstein (Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to ask the pioneering scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. Together, they bring a murdered young woman back to life, and thus The Bride (Buckley) is born. Neither of them, however, could have imagined the consequences of their actions: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural upheaval! And the fierce and explosive romance of two outlaws in love!

The film stars Buckley, Bale, Peter Sarsgaard, and Bening, as well as Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Oscar winner Penélope Cruz. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s direction is based on her own screenplay, and she is joined by Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler, and Osnat Handelsman Keren as producers. Carla Raij, David Webb, and Courtney Kivowitz serve as executive producers.
