A touching story about family, love, and the difficulty of letting go. SHORT SYNOPSIS The winds of change are blowing in Tero’s life. His parents are getting older, and his best friend Henri—his own son—has found a girlfriend, so there is no longer room for four in the small cottage. Tero and his dog must move into their own cabin, from which the shaman must first drive out the evil spirits. Loneliness and the distance from his son cause Tero’s life to unravel and make Henri worry about his father’s well-being. LONG SYNOPSIS The winds of change are blowing in Tero’s life. His best friend Henri, his own son, finds a girlfriend, and there is no longer room for four in the small cottage. Dad and the dog have to move into their own cabin, from which an exorcist must drive out the evil spirits. Loneliness and distance from his son cause Tero’s life to falter and make Henri worry about his father’s well-being. The Beauty of Errors explores the interdependent relationships within a family, how they change, and the significance of family. This change is particularly reflected in Tero, who is forced to reconsider things he may have taken for granted. The grandparents have always taken care of their grandsons, Tero and Henri. Grandpa Heikki’s hip problems and Grandma Pirjo’s aging turn the situation upside down. At the same time, Tero is forced to face a painful reality: Henri is no longer a child. Tero must learn to let go and face the world on his own.
