María Ángeles has always lived in the city of Tangier in Northern Morocco. The retired woman's husband passed away years ago, and her daughter lives in Madrid with her children. She enjoys her daily routines in the multicultural environment of her beloved hometown. When her daughter unexpectedly announces her intention to sell her apartment on Málaga Street, María Ángeles's entire life threatens to change. She faces a move either to Madrid or to a nursing home. As she tries to hold onto her home and memories, she encounters difficulties, but the situation also brings joy and new love. The film takes the viewer on a life-affirming journey through the streets of Morocco. Calle Málaga – street of my memories is the first Spanish-language film by acclaimed Moroccan director Maryam Touzani. Touzani's previous film, The Blue Caftan, was Morocco's Oscar nominee in 2022. The lead role in Calle Málaga is played by Carmen Maura, a legend of Spanish cinema and known as Pedro Almodóvar's trusted actress.
