"Beautiful, Wild, Happy" chronicles Kaija Koo’s journey to becoming a confident and courageous artist. The film is a powerful story about one of Finland’s greatest artists, whose music has comforted and empowered generations. Her pianist husband, Markku, sees her talent more clearly than anyone else. Success, however, does not come without an inner struggle. The grief brought on by the loss of her father brings Kaija to a standstill and causes her to temporarily give up on her dreams. When a surprising surge in popularity propels Kaija to superstardom, she must not only confront the shadows of success but also find her own voice—so that she can take the stage freer than ever before.
