SUMMARY:Guided tour of the "Fragments" exhibition
DESCRIPTION: FT Jan Fast serves as a special guide for the “Fragments of the World War” exhibition. Hanko 1941–1944.\nIn March 1940, Hanko was ceded to the Soviet Union as a naval base in accordance with the peace terms of the Winter War. The entire population of Hanko was evacuated, and the Soviet Union stationed approximately 27,000–30,000 soldiers in Hanko, with a total population of about 28,000–40,000 when including family members who accompanied the soldiers and other civilians. \nWhen Soviet forces fortified Hanko, the Finns built their own line of defense around Hanko. \nFT Jan Fast launched the Hanko 1941–1944 project in 2018. The aim of this project is to study the wartime events on the Hanko Peninsula from a multidisciplinary conflict archaeology perspective. \nTake this opportunity to explore the “Fragments of World War II” exhibition with a guided tour by archaeologist Jan Fast! \nTour duration approx. 1 hour. \nGuided tour fee €8 + museum admission\n(Children €0 / Students, seniors & unemployed €7 / Adults €10 / Museum Card) \nIn Finnish at 1:00 PM\nin Swedish at 2:30 PM \n
